Location: Rome, Trastevere. Click HERE for Map !

You will see a Church, St Maria in Trastevere, my accomodation was just to the right of the steeple.
See photograph of church below. This map has zoom features and list of prominent landamarks !

Rome is a busy and lively city teeming with tourists from many countires. Most of the famous attactions
can easily be seen on foot with no more than 20 minutes walk between each. You have to be fairly carefull
of the traffic as navigate the city - the Italian drivers are pretty crazy (You thought Paris was bad !!!)

Escaping the main tourist attractions and main streets is a continual delight as you discover many more ancient
and intersting buildings completely by accident. As you make your way out of town and away from the hustle
and bustle you will find curiously winding and narrowing back streets with no end of cafes, art shops, book
shops and street straders. Best of all the pizza bars that sell an amazing variety of fresh pizza baked on
premises and sold by weight - just say how big a slice you can manage !

The evenings came to life as more people teem out onto the streets for dinner or drinks. The little side streets
buzz with people walking between bars and restaurants and even more street vendors and buskers whilst the
`Piazzas' (Squares - although some oval or round) provide excellent free evening entertainment as street artists
perform for tips. It was so easy to forget - this was February, 10pm and still quite warm !!!

Here are a few photograps I took including the map links. As usual click to enlarge.

I hope you enjoy them !

Hopefully you can get a glimpse of what Rome is like. I havent any indoor pictures mainly due to the limitations of my now ageing digital camera.

You will be amazed by the buildings in Rome, they are awesome!

The inside of St Peters will literally take your breathe away so that really is a `must see' if you ever visit, which I highly recommend !

Special thanks go to Victoria Great for making this trip possible !
